University of Colorado in Colorado Springs
Project Scope:
Create a campus wayfinding system for the UCCS campus in Colorado Springs. Previous signage was not effective so UCCS asked us to provide concepts for highly visible signage using their brand standards. Provide building identification signage for the new National Cybersecurity Center.
Role: Designer, Project Manager
Provided current signage allowance summary and worked to determine client goals for wayfinding and identification. I provided pedestrian and vehicular circulation analyses to understand current wayfinding needs. I also worked with the client to understand future needs as this campus will be expanding. This lead us to a sign family concept utilizing flexible, illuminated message panels that can be changed and added upon as the campus expands. I managed this project from concept to completion, working with fabricators through the design process to provide samples to help the client visualize the end product. I reviewed and approved shop drawings for production and ensured the final product met the design intent.
Deliverables:
Circulation analyses, location plans, message schedule. Design intent drawings for exterior signage.
